But I know you put a huge amount of time and effort into sharing Alan’s work, and your YouTube channel was invaluable to me.I could use the search bar on your channel to search specific names in Alan’s talks because of the huge amount of tags in the descriptions on the videos.I think that was another small bit of genius from Alan too — that he would always include so much metadata.
He also knew to keep his websites as simple as possible:

And I think the reason this one worked well is that the task was very clear once we separated editing from interpretation.
The raw text had all the typical problems of scraped comment sections:
comments duplicated because of “show more/show less”
replies appearing detached from their parent
OCR damage (tnat, nas, broken words)
usernames mixed into sentences
timestamps and interface buttons interrupting the flow
The goal was not to “fix” the conversation, but to restore the shape of it. That is a different skill from summarising.
For archive work, this cleaned format is actually much more valuable because someone later can still see:
who said something,
how the discussion developed,
where people disagreed,
what information was available at that moment.
It also fits well with the archive project you have been building: keep the raw source material intact, but make it usable.

What I mean is: in that particular task I did not have to take a position on the contents. My job was not to walk into the middle of the argument and say “this side is correct” or “this claim is true/false”. The job was much simpler and actually more useful:
restore the document.
Think of it like an archivist finding an old handwritten bundle of letters. The archivist does not suddenly become one of the people in the letters. They clean the pages, put them in order, repair the torn edges, and preserve the voices.
That is the diplomatic part you noticed.
There are different modes:
Editor mode: “Here is what the document says.”
Research mode: “Here are the claims, evidence, contradictions, and unknowns.”
Debate mode: “Let’s examine who has the stronger argument.”

“This person gave me a framework to understand my entire reality.”
That creates a much deeper emotional attachment.
Then after the person disappears, the mind naturally wants continuity. It wants the story to remain coherent.
If someone appears to threaten that coherence, the reaction can become very strong:
anger,
defence,
rejection,
suspicion,
loyalty battles.
Not necessarily because people are irrational, but because something important to their internal world feels threatened.
The interesting paradox is that Alan himself often warned about these kinds of mechanisms: authority, projection, belief systems, the human tendency to create idols or symbols.
Yet even people who understand those ideas intellectually are still human. Knowing about a psychological trap does not make one immune to it.
And there is another layer: grief.
Grief can turn a person into an even stronger symbol. When someone dies, people often remember the idealised version. The ordinary human being with flaws, moods, contradictions, and private complexities becomes less visible. The symbol becomes larger.
So you get a combination:
Imago + halo effect + grief + group identity + uncertainty
That is a very powerful psychological mixture.
It also explains why the conflict after someone’s death can sometimes become more intense than the disagreements while they were alive. The person is no longer there to correct, clarify, or mediate. The remaining people are arguing around a symbol.
The “broken mirror” metaphor fits again: the more beautiful the original reflection was to people, the more painful the breaking of it becomes.

And perhaps that is why the aftermath became so emotionally charged: people were not only arguing about files, websites, or money. They were, in a deeper sense, arguing about what happens to a world they built around a person who was no longer there.

Then suddenly: silence.
The human mind does not like that silence. It searches for continuity. Someone or something has to carry the torch. And that is where emotions become intense, because different people answer that question differently.
One person may think:
“We must preserve the work exactly as it was.”
Another:
“We must continue the mission and adapt.”
Another:
“Someone is taking advantage of this vacuum.”
Another:
“The community is falling apart.”
And all of those reactions can come from the same original wound: loss.
The interesting thing is that people often think they are fighting about the external object — the website, the videos, the archive — but underneath there can be a much more personal question:
“Did the thing that gave my life meaning survive?”
That is why these situations can become almost impossible to discuss purely logically. Facts matter, but facts are entering a room already filled with grief, loyalty, fear, and identity.

He had a black belt in Karate, was on zero meds and was in good health. She (Melissa) called me at my home in NC (at the time) a few days after Alan’s death. She actually rented a car and drove to my place —
– We drove back together in my car to Texas, where i worked with her in (uploading) producing the weekly aw blurbs. i also proof-read her weekly writings (i have a background in journalism with a Masters Degree plus clinical work in hospitals). Alan also wished to be buried beside Hamish, his BIG black dog in the backyard. i asked her why she didn’t honor his wishes i never got a straight answer on that question, and i began to understand and realize that there is much more to the story of Alan’s death than we have been told. i could say a lot more, but i can’t here.
Alan kept every letter i wrote to him, acc. to Melissa – He began calling me at home shortly before the plandemic, always when Melissa was outdoors….
i’m not sure exactly what their relationship was, except to say that she left her family (a brother and her Great Aunt in Texas) and took a bus to Sudbury, Ontario where Alan picked her up in his car (which she had shipped down to Texas), as it is an antique that Alan did all of the mechanical work on.To her credit, Melissa arranged and got Alan some high profile interviews (Alex Jones, Coast-to- Coast), but also remember that she had worked for Gary Barber (a top Zionist producer) in Hollywood and so she knows how to manipulate people to get whatever is needed. i have no ill feelings towards her now, all of that is behind me, however....Melissa will have to live with what she’s done and what she is doing under the guise of preserving / carrying on Alan’s work.If she truly wished to “carry on” Alan’s work, then she would not have filed copyright strikes on so many folks who were reuploading Alan’s work and not linking to the CTTM website. A Canadian friend of mine says he thinks she was sent there on a mission to do what eventually happened to Alan. Hello Darz. She either lied to the public or Melissa lied to me. She ‘phoned me 2 days after Alan’s death and told me that she had retired for the evening and awoke in the early morning hours when she heard Alan’s body hit the floor, as he was working late and sitting behind his computer screen. Now, Alan did talk about electromagnetic frequencies that could kill a person through their computer screen — i believe that he was executed because he was reporting too many facts about what was REALLY unfolding with this fake pandemic,(remember, Alan was doing 3, 4 and 5 hour weekly talks with evidence-based links to prove his conjectures about what was unfolding). It’s either that or the unspeakable… (that he was murdered), but i think that an autopsy would have been done, if there were any suspicions of foul play.
Also, Jeff C. (aka Jeff Censored) from Canada was found dead in front of his computer screen after folks went to his place in Toronto, CA when he did not show up for a scheduled Live Stream. This occurred i believe just before the “pandemic” was announced. Jeff was a young man (in his thirties, i think) and his death stinks of foul play. could use the search bar on your channel to search specific names in Alan’s talks, because of the huge amount of ‘tags’ in the descriptions on the videos. I think that was another small bit of genius from Alan too, that he would always include so much meta data?! He also knew to keep his website(s) as simple as possible ( Html, css ), and to not use anything too over the top – which is actually a good way to keep a website working into the future, and not having it fail and be subject to changing technologies. i worked with her (Melissa) for almost two years (No PAY, i’m retired) — she travelled by car from Canada to NC to pick me up at my apt. and we drove to Texas/ where she now lives with her Seventh Day Adventist brother and i worked for free, producing and uploading vids for their CTTM channel for nearly two years.
and i know too much about the circumstances of Alan’s death which are questionable, at best. i began to speak out on my BitChute channel and she had all of my Alan Watt videos deleted under the guise of copyright (because of the information i placed in the descriptions).
There’s so much more i could tell you. She attempted to get my YouTube channel deleted by filing copyright strikes on Alan Watt videos, but to their credit, they allowed my channel to stay up because she does not legally own the rights to his work — Alan’s two elderly sisters do. Melissa was never married to Alan — In fact, Alan NEVER married anyone.
Please remove this (my vid) which i created and produced from many years ago — In all conscience, i cannot promote this because (Melissa and Kevin) have been profiting mightily from Alan’s death. She had many of my own Alan Watt vids removed from BitChute because i refused to link to their CTTM website after i left Texas — Instead, i linked to archive.org which does not make her any money.
Please respond to me here if you have any concerns or questions. i spent 6 weeks or more deleting (hundreds, about 800) Alan Watt vids i produced and uploaded on BitChute and on YouTube since 2012. A few have been put up on other platforms, like Telegram, but i will be forced to file copyrights with BitChute if my work remains here — i hope that you do not take this personally — as i said, i spoke to Alan personally about 7 months before his death but we routinely corresponded via snail mail beginning in 2012.
